All the students of General Degree Course in both Science and Arts have to qualify in Compulsory English and Compulsory Bengali / Alternative English/Hindi Examination of 50 marks each at the end of the 1 year of study and in Environmental Studies of 50 marks at the end of the third year. Besides the compulsory subjects, each General Course student has to study 3 combination subjects consisting of 4 papers of 100 marks (1+2+1).For Honours Students, the number of combination subjects to be studied is two only.In addition to the combination subjects Honours students will read 12 papers in the Ist year (part 1), 3 papers in the 2nd year (part 2) and 3 papers in the 3rd year (part 3) (2+3+3).
